Member, Council of Elders at Strahl Composite
We are pleased to introduce our first Member of the Council of Elders.
Carlos Rufin is a Professor of International Business and Strategy at Suffolk University's Sawyer Business School. He has worked as an independent consultant with a variety of organizations around the world, such as the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Government of Panama and the United States Agency for International Development, on projects related to infrastructure development, Public-Private Partnerships, renewable energy, access to basic services, and regulatory reform and governance.
He combines his practice-oriented work with academic activity, teaching and conducting research on infrastructure-related governance in developing countries, multi-stakeholder partnerships, the interaction between business and informal institutions, and sustainable urbanization. In addition to full-time teaching at Suffolk University and previously at Babson College, he is the President at the Institute for International Urban Development, has been a visiting scholar at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro and at Harbin Engineering University in Harbin, China, and has taught at ESAN Business School in Lima, Peru, Instituto de Empresa Business School in Madrid, and the Harvard Kennedy School. He is the author of several books and numerous articles in major international journals and has been a guest speaker at many events and universities in different parts of the world. Dr. Rufín has a PhD in Public Policy with a specialization in economic development from Harvard University, as well as an M.A. degree in Economics from Columbia University and a BA in Economics from Princeton University.
